News | The Northern Link UG | Gulu-President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday fulfilled his pledge of donating a brand-new tractor to Gulu Arch-Diocese to boost Cassava Production in the Acholi Sub-region.
The President made the Pledge in March 2020 during the commissioning of the Acholi Bur Parish Project to promote cassava cultivation.
The tractor registration UBH 084P was handed over to Arch-bishop Dr. John Baptist Odama at his residence in For God, Bardege-Layibi Division by officials from Statehouse.
Odama said the tractor will be stationed at Acholi Bur parish to support farmers in opening gardens for planting cassava.
Odama said they are still expecting five more tractors from National Agricultural Advisory Services-NAADs which he said will propel the commercialization of cassava production in the region.
Dr. Samuel Mugasi, the NAADs Executive Director said the five tractors would be delivered next month.
