News | The Northern Link UG | A 49-year-old man, a resident of Copil village, Unyama Sub County in Gulu District has taken his own life after his wife reportedly abandoned their marital home over a high sex drive.
Rashid Okullo reportedly committed suicide on Tuesday after Eveline Aol left for her parents’ home because of demanding sex regularly whenever he is drunk. His lifeless body was found by Aol who had returned to check on him.
According to police, the victim had threatened to end his life if his wife failed to return to their marital home. Aol was also not happy about the deceased unbecoming behaviors after taking marijuana and alcohol.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the report adding that their preliminary investigation report indicates that the victim ingested pesticide to end his life. This brings to 20 cases of suicide registered in the Acholi sub-region in the last three months.
