Sports | The Northern link UG | KCCA FC has signed a partnership agreement with Tanzania’s giant club Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga SC) to share facilities and expertise in areas such as training, youth development, stadium operations, and strategies.
Nicknamed “Timu ya Wananchi”, “Yanga”, Young Africans hails from Jangwani, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Founded in 1935, the club plays its home games at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
This unique partnership between the two football clubs includes scope to hold training camps at each other’s grounds and exchange of knowledge and expertise where applicable that could help pave the way for the establishment of international bond which will, in turn, help the clubs to progress as a professional sports organization and the leading football clubs in East Africa.
“We have signed a partnership on technical and knowledge exchanges, player development programs, and player transfers. This partnership is in line with our strategic plan. Among the key result, areas include Human capital development and strategic alliances and partnerships. We hope to have a grateful partnership with Young Africa SC” – Aggrey Ashaba – KCCA FC – Vice-Chairman
The signed partnership also includes the following;
- KCCA FC to benchmark from Young Africans SC on fans mobilization and engagement strategies hence growing the game of football together in the East African region.
- Both Clubs facilitate Human Resource exchange programs across the boarder including Players, Coaches, and other staff where applicable.
- Both Clubs to share knowledge and expertise where applicable in the different departments at the Clubs.
- Both Clubs to consult the other party of any Player/s in their respective Leagues as deemed fit.
Haji Mfikirwa the Ag. Secretary-General who signed the agreement on behalf of Young Africa SC had this to say;

This move is a tremendous opportunity for both KCCA Fc and Yanga Sc to develop their capabilities as clubs and understanding the culture and strategies of each other’s operations.
This is a big leap forward in our growth as a club and we shall continue having more of these strategic partnerships that grow and develop the Club wholistically. Our association with Yanga comes at the right time as the Club’s theme for season 2021/2022 is Fans Mobilisation. KCCA took the initial steps towards a successful, mutually beneficial long-term co-ope
KCCA took the initial steps towards a successful, mutually beneficial long-term co-operation with Yanga FC by training at Yanga SC’s training complex known as Benjamin Mkapa Stadium during their extended stay in Dar es Salaam after they were eliminated in Cecafa Kagame cup by Academie Ngozi.
Young Africans SC is the second football club on the continent of Africa that KCCA FC has signed a partnership with. The first was El Gouna (Egypt) in 2019.
This Memorandum of Understanding is effective from August 2021 to August 2024
