West Nile Giants Onduparaka Football Club have announced the resigning of promising youngster Matata Gabriel, confirming recent reports linking them to a striker.
Onduparaka announced on Tuesday the arrival of former Ondunyiri striker Matata Gabriel from West Nile Regional League outfit Mvara Boys Football Club .
The 19-year-old has penned a one-year renewable deal that will tie him to the Goodlight Stadium until June 2021.
The former Mvara Boys Skipper was the top scorer in the regional league in 2018/19 season before bagging 14goals in 10games in 2019/20 season and guiding the Manya Boys to a round of 32 Uganda Cup finish the club’s furthest journey in the competition after seeing off Uganda Premier League outfits Bull FC in the round of 64.
Matata becomes the seventh signing for the Caterpillars following the arrival of Bony Musema, Jerry Jakisa, Augustine Akoch, Jasper Okello, Nelson Opio and Kennedy Atibuni.
Hassan Muhamood, Andama Sabir, Abel Eturude, Ezra Bida are the players that have left the club during this Primary transfer window.
The Caterpillars will be the under stewardship of Vialli Bainomugisha and deputized by Mubarak Abu Wamboya with Ibrahim Kongo as the goalkeeping coach.

Born in 2001 at Arua Regional refferal Hospital, schooled in Anyafio, Arua Hill and Golden Treasure Primaries and growing under our Youthful Academy, Ondunyiri; 19 year old forward Gabriel Matata has rejoined us ahead of the 2020/21 season.
