WEST NILE: The bishop emeritus Martin Lulua of Nebbi diocese has urged young people to define the true meaning of Christianity in their lives.
Preaching during a memorial service of late Anna Awiru at Ediofe Cathedral Parish in Arua diocese, the Bishop emphasized the need for moral degeneration arising from childhood upbringing.
“Many young people do not want to listen to the elders, in such, they involve themselves in doing dubious activities that are contrary to the church doctrines and the life of humans. He added that too much drinking of alcoholics and eating and smoking dangerous substances damage the minds of the youth”.
On 16th February 2021 in Arua central division over fifty youths alleged to be wrong elements were arrested following community concerns due to continuous cases of thefts, indiscriminate killings, rape, door breakings, and others that attracted the attention of the joint security forces in the city.
Meanwhile, the LC1 chairperson Ewanyapa cell in Ayivu division Buga steven explains that theft cases are increasingly seen as most of those tags who escaped from the recent arrest conducted in the central division have now settled in Ayivu division.
“We arrested eight of these young boys at Ediofe primary school premises of which two are from Anyafio, Three others from Smash and the rest from Adriko all in the central division but as we advanced to the police station two of these managed to escape but we’re still searching for them.”
The community members must be vigilant and be able to identify these criminals so that they remain peaceful. ‘Buga said’
