Singer Warchild Axar launch a public awareness campaign about street children in Arua city.

“Off The Streets” is the first step towards shading light on the dangers of street life.

Gossip | The Northern Link UG | Living Generations West Nile, in partnership with Arua-based artiste Warchild Axar, launched a campaign aimed at creating awareness about the increasing magnitude of street children in Arua city and the risk this poses to the children and the community.

The campaign, implemented under the slogan, Off The Streets, includes community and online outreaches involving multi-sectoral stakeholders and personalities.

“The situation in Arua city is quite unique. The majority, if not all of the children have homes they go back to at the end of the day. However, that they spend a big part of their day on the streets is something that should worry us all because of the lack of supervision,” Warchild Axar, the artiste whose music album, Off The Streets, inspired this campaign.

“Living Generations is dedicated to promoting awareness about issues that plague our community. We are proud to partner with a rising artist who is very conscious about the improvement of our community and we look forward to seeing this campaign to the end. We also encourage other partners to join us in molding a way forward for children in Arua city and West Nile at large,” said Mr. Adriko.

“In addition to the online campaigns and the community outreaches, the campaign will hold a fundraising dinner at a later date, aimed at supporting a local which is directly impacting the lives of children living and or working on the streets in Arua,” Added Mr. Adriko, who also doubles as the project manager for the campaign.
