Suspected Goat Thief Lynched, Beheaded In Lamwo

News | The Northern Link UG | A suspected South Sudanese man was this morning lynched and beheaded by an angry mob in Tumanun A village, Agoro Sub County in Lamwo district after he was found stealing three goats.

According to a report by, The unidentified man in his early 20’s was lynched at around 4:00 am after he was netted with the goats he reportedly stole from the home of one Abalo Janet.

According to Abalo, the deceased invaded her home at around 9 pm but she made an alarm and he took off.

Abalo said she, however, woke up at 4:00m and went to check on her goats only to find them missing.

She explained that she moved around her home and sighted the thief prompting her to make an alarm which attracted neighbors who descended on the thief and later beheaded him.

An unnamed source at Agoro police post confirmed the report and said they will be forced to bury the body if relatives fail to claim it.

Ogak Ismael, the Local Council One Chairperson of Tumanun A village said the deceased’s head had gone missing from the scene by press time.

Ogak said that the area has experienced an increase in raids of livestock by suspected South Sudanese rustlers since June 2021.
